Today, DICE unveiled major new updates for Battlefield 6 and Battlefield Hazard Zone players, highlighting some core gameplay changes coming to both experiences.

After an incredible first year, Season 5 marks the beginning of Year 2 for Battlefield 6 and Hazard Zone. With this milestone, we've implemented a series of quality-of-life improvements and changed the visual and tactile feel of combat, ensuring each match is as dynamic and thrilling as possible through various enhancements.

Battlefield 6 and Hazard Zone Changes

● Vehicle health regeneration and damage adjustments to better reward infantry for precise positioning and flanking tactics.

● Anti-air system changes aimed at strengthening the interaction between anti-air units and aircraft.

● Additional gunplay changes include attachment adjustments aimed at increasing gameplay variety, along with polish to animations for certain weapons, tactical equipment, and stances.

● Vehicle balance adjustments

Battle Royale-Specific Changes

● Improved matchmaking rating ranges to establish more accurate skill-based divisions.

● Reconnect feature designed to help you return to an ongoing Battle Royale match after an unexpected crash or disconnection.

● Recommended Drop Zones (Casual Battle Royale only) provide a guided landing system for new players, directing them to recommended Points of Interest (POIs) and nearby loot spots while avoiding immediate squad conflicts.

● Armor mechanics and application speed have been significantly improved.

● Classes have been optimized, and progression paths have been rebalanced.

Season 5 is just the beginning of this year's content evolution. Throughout 2027, DICE will continue to deliver new content for Battlefield 6 and Hazard Zone, while refining the core systems that define the Battlefield experience, including making vehicle gameplay more immersive and continuously expanding the gunplay system. The team will collaborate closely with players through the Battlefield Labs program and gather real-time feedback to ensure the game continues to evolve.
