With Dino Crisis 2 coming to PS5, ComicBook author believes that while it's great for players to revisit the classic titles, the series still needs a modernized new entry.
The author recalls that the original Dino Crisis in 1999 prompted him to purchase a PlayStation. As a dinosaur enthusiast at the time, he was deeply impressed by the survival horror experience of evading dinosaurs in the game.
Prior to Dino Crisis 2, Capcom already made Dino Crisis 1 available on PS5 via PlayStation Plus Premium in 2024, later offering it for separate purchase. The author argues that these re-releases alone are insufficient to chart a new direction for the series.
Citing the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, as well as Onimusha: Way of the Sword's continuation of the classic series, the author hopes Capcom will also modernize the Dino Crisis franchise. This reflects his expectations for the series' future.
