"Ghost of Yōtei" has launched update 2.005, with the Complete Edition going live simultaneously. This update adds QSSR support to the base PS5 version; the Complete Edition is available for new buyers as well as those choosing to upgrade from their current version.
Sony introduced QSSR as an AI upscaling solution for PS5, aiming to improve image detail and stability. The rendering lead at Sucker Punch Productions stated that the team hopes this will make details in characters and environments appear clearer.
The Complete Edition adds the narrative expansion "Echoes of Sekigahara." The story unfolds between Atsu's present experiences and her past memories in Honshu. Players will meet Nagato, a figure from her past, explore previously unseen valleys, and encounter new enemies, heavy weapons, armor, and dye options.
The Complete Edition also introduces a single-player combat survival mode called "Most Wanted." After accepting a bounty, players begin a new round of challenges, gaining buffs by defeating enemies and unlocking more playable characters.
Additionally, the Complete Edition includes all content from the existing Digital Deluxe Edition, plus new tracks for Watanabe Mode, Photo Mode stickers, New Game+ outfits, and new trophies. It also features armor sets tied to other PlayStation titles.
