EA and Battlefield Studios have begun introducing Season 5 of Battlefield 6: vehicle damage, health regeneration mechanics, and anti-aircraft combat will all be adjusted. DICE also confirmed that content will continue to be released after Season 5, with updates for both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC continuing into 2027.
Season 5 is the last seasonal content drop planned for this year, with the season's location previously confirmed to shift to Las Vegas. The combat adjustments announced this time aim to make infantry positioning and flanking attacks more effective. Mobile anti-aircraft vehicles' firepower will be more effective against aircraft; when using laser designators, players will need to track targets more consistently to maintain lock-on.
Specifically for vehicles, the splash damage dealt by "Little Bird" helicopters to infantry will be reduced, while the secondary gun's rate of fire and overheating speed will both increase. Main battle tank ammunition and missile effects will also be adjusted, and the cooldown times for aerial vehicle resupply points will be calculated separately by vehicle category. The development team also plans to adjust weapon attachments and polish animations for certain weapons, equipment, and stances.
Battle Royale content will also be adjusted: ranked matchmaking brackets will be more finely divided, and players will be able to reconnect after accidental disconnections; the casual mode will offer recommended drop zones for newcomers, and the armor usage process will be sped up. Class, progression paths, and weapon balance are also under adjustment.
DICE stated that in addition to releasing new content in 2027, they will continue to improve core systems. More immersive vehicle gameplay, firing ranges, and balancing for sniper rifles and explosives are currently directions for future exploration and have not yet been confirmed for inclusion in the Season 5 update.
