Kagura Games and MangaGamer have launched the PC Steam version of Sengoku Rance. The game offers Japanese interface and subtitles, and is available at a 20% discount until October 16, priced at 2,024 yen.
Sengoku Rance was originally released by AliceSoft in 2006 as the seventh installment in the Rance series. Set in "JAPAN," a world inspired by Japan's Sengoku period, the story follows Rance and Sill as they travel to the region, become entangled in the power struggles of the Oda clan of Owari, and embark on a campaign to unify the land.
The game blends strategy and RPG elements, with regional conquest at its core. Players must manage territories and resources, expand their forces, and then attack adjacent enemy lands. Battles are turn-based, where generals' unit types, skills, and action order influence formation strategies. The game also features general recruitment and development, personal storylines, and dungeon exploration.
Patches are also available on the Kagura Games website. As the Steam store currently does not list an "Adults Only" rating, some media outlets speculate that the version sold directly on the platform may have been censored compared to the original. However, the extent and existence of any such modifications cannot be confirmed based solely on this information.
Additionally, other titles in the series, including Rance 01+02, Rance 03, and Rance IX, have been announced for upcoming releases on Steam.
