Dynasty Warriors Producer Tomohiko Sho Wants to Develop New Titles, Leaving Future Remakes to Others

Dynasty Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends Remastered has been released. Recently, series producer Tomohiko Sho discussed the future direction. He stated that rather than continuing to personally produce remasters, he would prefer to develop new games or sequels; no specific remaster projects have been confirmed for the future.

This title was remastered using Unreal Engine 5 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original release. Sho believes that if this remaster proves successful, the likelihood of remasters for Dynasty Warriors 4 and subsequent titles will increase, and titles not yet available on Steam are not entirely without hope. However, he emphasized that there are currently no decisions to announce, nor have they begun considering specific projects.

Sho mentioned that, being in his fifties, he is considering how many more games he can complete before retirement. He also wishes to respond to the long-time supporters of the series, so he is considering having others take on the next related tasks, leaving his own production time for new titles.

Regarding this remaster, Sho stated that the project spanned several years and the production process was quite arduous, with the team making numerous adjustments to the final product. He is currently unsure how these adjustments will be received by the public.
