With GTA VI scheduled to launch on consoles in November 2026, the entire gaming industry is preparing for this "earthquake-level" release. However, the head of Arrowhead Game Studios remains remarkably calm—for a simple reason: GTA VI won't be launching on PC at first.
Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani stated, "Rockstar creates crazy, high-investment titles, and it's great to see such games exist. But selfishly speaking, I'm glad it won't be coming to PC immediately, and that the online mode won't launch alongside the game."
Although it's still uncertain which online features will be included at GTA VI's launch, Rockstar has previously hinted multiple times that the initial focus will be on the single-player experience. The online mode for its predecessor, GTA V, also launched several weeks after the game's release.
For Jorjani, these two factors leave valuable room for Helldivers 2 to thrive. He added, "This means Helldivers 2 can continue to dominate our lane, which is why I don't think it will become the 'all-consuming' beast everyone fears."
Currently, GTA VI is only confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC release still far off and the launch date for online features remaining unknown. This undoubtedly means that many PC players and those interested in multiplayer will have to keep waiting.
