Disney announced in February 2024 a $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games, with plans to create major Disney experiences within Fortnite. According to the disclosed information, this investment corresponds to approximately 10% of the company's equity.

Walden made these remarks when directly asked whether Disney had ever considered a full acquisition of Epic Games. Regarding past collaborations, she mentioned that both sides had seriously discussed investment and equity arrangements; concerning the current situation, she clearly stated that an acquisition is not part of ongoing discussions.

Previous collaborations include the AI Darth Vader event in Fortnite in 2025, as well as multiple Fortnite and Star Wars-related experiences launching in early 2026.
