Bandai Namco recently unveiled the HG 1/144 "Bau Bahlam" model kit for Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance at an exhibition related to the All Japan Model Hobby Show. The design details, such as the chainsaw-style obsidian sword, changed the mind of a PC Gamer editor who had previously been skeptical about the game's giant monster setting.
The "Bau Bahlam" made a brief appearance in a previous game trailer, but this model showcase allowed the editor to see the mobile suit's details clearly: its mono-eye design reminded him of classic close-combat mobile suits, while its weapon draws inspiration from the shape of Mesoamerican obsidian swords, with a chainsaw added to one side.
The model also features detailed parts that can be posed pulling the starter cord, along with spiked fist armor. The editor felt these designs gave the mobile suit a fierce appearance and eased his concerns about the game's direction. Based on the mobile suit customization scenes in the trailer, he speculated that players might be able to use "Bau Bahlam" parts in the future and expressed hope that this weapon would be usable; however, related gameplay mechanics have not been confirmed.
Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance is scheduled to launch on Steam on March 4, 2027. The "Bau Bahlam" model kit is expected to be released in 2027, though the exact date has not yet been announced.
