Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery plan to jointly use the Skydance name following their merger. CEO David Ellison announced the name on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday; the merger between the two companies has not yet been completed and is expected to close on Tuesday.
The deal is valued at $110 billion. Ellison spent a year lobbying to push the deal through, followed by a two-month delay due to antitrust lawsuits filed by 12 U.S. states and the Writers Guild of America.
The name proposed for joint use after the merger has been announced, but the deal is still pending completion as expected. No specific post-merger business arrangements have been disclosed in current reports.
