Avengers: Doomsday Director Says Runtime Is About Two and a Half Hours, Final Length Undecided

Anthony Russo, director of Avengers: Doomsday, described the film's runtime as "about two and a half hours." This is the director's current estimate, with the final runtime yet to be determined.

In an interview with Fandango, Anthony Russo and Joe Russo stated that the film needed to be organized around a central narrative principle to keep the story focused and moving forward.

There had previously been claims that the film was around 165 minutes, or 2 hours and 45 minutes, which contradicts Anthony's recent statement. With multiple characters involved, fans are curious about how much screen time each will get, while others worry that a runtime under three hours might make the story feel rushed. The actual impact will only be clear once the final cut is released.

Joe Russo also teased that the film's ending would be surprising, but did not reveal specific plot details. The theatrical release date is listed as December 18.
