The Epic Games Store has announced the schedule for the next two rounds of free games in October. Currently available for claim are System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remake and Buried Stars, with the deadline being October 8; they will be followed by Lurking in the Dark and Terra Landscape, which can be claimed until October 15.
Once players add the games to their library within the respective claim periods, they can keep them permanently. To claim all four games, be sure to note the deadlines for each batch.
Among the first batch, System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remake is based on the 1999 first-person shooter and role-playing game, updated by Nightdive Studios with enhanced visuals, widescreen support, and cross-platform co-op play. Buried Stars is a suspenseful adventure game set against the backdrop of a survival talent show, where trapped contestants communicate with each other and the outside world via social media while awaiting rescue.
The next batch features Lurking in the Dark, a horror puzzle-adventure game. Blind girl Sophie must evade pursuers and find a way to escape from a haunted mansion. Terra Landscape is a medieval-themed city-building puzzle game where players strategically place buildings to establish a kingdom on floating islands.
