In late September, First publicly released a demo showcasing a post-apocalyptic New York wasteland playable in a web browser. The demo included RPG elements such as quests and dialogue trees, as well as Fallout series staples like V.A.T.S. and the Pip-Boy. According to reports, the demo was created using Claude Opus 5.5; First describes himself as an "AI creative."

First had previously criticized the official developers on social media for not releasing new Fallout titles for years. The fan game also sparked debates in the comments section regarding the series' name, iconic mechanics, and its generative AI-based production method. First claimed that the cease-and-desist letter allegedly came from Bethesda, but there is no public confirmation from Bethesda regarding this letter in the available information.
