The user originally ordered a configuration labeled as RTX 5080, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 SSD. However, the received machine actually featured an RTX 5090, 64GB DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB SSD.
The mobile RTX 5090 comes with 24GB of GDDR7 VRAM, which is 50% more than the RTX 5080's 16GB. This not only allows it to run AAA games at maximum settings, but the larger VRAM also enables it to run local large language models.
The 64GB of DDR5 RAM and 2TB SSD also mean the user doesn't need to spend extra on upgrades. With storage prices soaring, the combined savings from these three differences are almost equivalent to getting another gaming console for free.
More importantly, the serial number on the laptop's chassis matches the one on the invoice exactly, so there should be no disputes if hardware replacements are needed in the future.
Typically, different configurations correspond to different SKUs and serial numbers, and mismatches can lead to warranty disputes. However, in this case, all numbers matched perfectly, meaning Razer officially recognizes this machine's identity.
For reference, the Razer Blade 18 with an RTX 5090, 64GB RAM, and 2TB storage sells for as much as 46,499 yuan in China. This means the user saved over 27,000 yuan.
