Gears of War: E-Day has opened for Early Access ahead of its official release on October 6. After the multiplayer servers went live, some players posted feedback reporting suspected cheating in their matches.
These reports include suspicious matches and instances in the Attrition mode where enemies are eliminated with a single quick strike. These assessments also take into account the media's own gameplay experiences. However, current reports do not indicate that cheating is widespread, nor should it be assumed that all players will encounter similar issues.
Observations suggest that the issue primarily occurs on PC, but it is not exclusive to the platform. Xbox players can disable cross-platform play to avoid some of these matches. More obvious cheating was observed during the testing phase, and the situation during Early Access remains to be seen.
Gears of War: E-Day holds a Metacritic score of 86. The game will launch on XSX/S and PC on October 6, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
