Nomion Games recently unveiled the first official concept art and new logo for Rush Is Real, showcasing the artistic direction of this competitive first-person shooter. The game is still in development, with the team aiming to rethink player motivations in competitive shooters.
The project is being developed under the guidance of Creative Director Jean Tyulegenov and Creative Producer Dmitri Ogorodnikov. Art Director Space Meerkat, a Croatian 3D artist with a background in filmmaking, stated that lighting, focus, and composition can help shape game spaces rather than merely decorating the visuals.
Space Meerkat's design approach combines cyberpunk with brutalist architecture, incorporating cultural elements from Asia and Eastern Europe. In contrast to the bright neon commonly seen in the genre, he aims to present a colder industrial future: exposed concrete and massive architectural scales become the primary visual features, while futuristic technology takes a backseat.
The game world plans to feature dense vertical structures and multi-layered concrete buildings. Spaces at different heights will serve not only for visual presentation but also for exploration, loot searching, and combat routes, allowing players to move between various levels.
