Bethesda has revealed the post-launch roadmap for Fallout 76, covering content from the remainder of 2026 through summer 2027. Plans include companion pets this winter, "Vault" challenges next spring, and a map expansion for Harpers Ferry in the summer.
The game is currently in the "Beware the Blood Moon" season. Phased quests centered around the diminutive killer "The Butcher" will roll out throughout October, culminating in a boss battle against his resurrected form.
The "World of Pets" update, scheduled for winter 2026, will allow players to bring camp pets along as they traverse the Appalachian wasteland. Pets can level up during journeys, and players can issue commands such as stay, follow, protect, and attack. The same update will also introduce bounty missions to Skyline Valley and explain why the Blue Ridge Caravan Company ceased operations in the area.
The "Vault" update planned for spring 2027 aims to expand the scale of bounty missions, with Ghouls offering more dangerous contracts. These dungeons can be tackled solo or cooperatively, with difficulty positioned between early endgame content and high-difficulty raids.
The summer highlight of the roadmap is the Harpers Ferry map expansion. As currently described, it is set approximately 200 years before the events of Fallout 3 and will depict Enclave activities in the region. It remains unconfirmed whether the Harpers Ferry update is tied to the release of the Fallout 3 remaster.
