Vincent Martella, the voice actor for Phineas in the Disney animated series Phineas and Ferb, expressed his strong desire for the show's exclusive world to be included in Kingdom Hearts IV.
After years of silence, Kingdom Hearts IV has finally restarted its promotional campaign, gradually releasing new information and raising player expectations once again. As with every new entry in the series, one of the most hotly debated topics is which Disney worlds will appear in Sora's adventure journey.
Currently, the only confirmed world in Kingdom Hearts IV is Coco (though hints of Star Wars are already emerging), leaving ample room for the inclusion of many other Disney IPs. Phineas and Ferb is a relatively niche candidate that hasn't received the attention it deserves, but Phineas's voice actor is eagerly looking forward to its potential appearance.
Earlier this week, The Movie Dweeb interviewed Vincent Martella, the voice actor for Phineas in Phineas and Ferb. During the interview, the media outlet proposed the idea of Phineas and Ferb appearing in Kingdom Hearts IV, to which Martella responded that he would "love nothing more."
Matela also mentioned that he believes Phineas and Ferb could invent various gadgets to help Sora, perhaps even assisting in unlocking new areas, similar to the role of the updated Chip 'n' Dale. Taking it a step further, Matela suggested that Phineas could also wield a Keyblade—considering Jack Sparrow once held one, this idea isn't too far-fetched.
Although letting Phineas wield a Keyblade would significantly impact the worldview of Kingdom Hearts, the world of Phineas and Ferb already offers plenty of room for imagination. It could even be set up so that Phineas and Ferb craft their own Keyblade-like weapons to fight the Heartless together.
However, despite sounding fun and Phineas and Ferb being a major Disney IP, the Kingdom Hearts series still has many film IPs waiting to be adapted, having rarely included content from animated TV series so far. Perhaps a small side world like the Hundred Acre Wood would suit Phineas and Ferb better, but regardless, it's heartening to see this less mainstream world candidate gaining more attention.
