New Drivers Released for GTX 700/900/1000 Series, Fixing Multiple Security Vulnerabilities

Recently, NVIDIA released the new GeForce 582.78 WHQL driver for GeForce GTX 700/900/1000/TITAN series graphics cards based on Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta architectures. This is an irregular security update that resolves multiple issues that could pose security risks.

The installation package includes common components, though their versions may not be as up-to-date as those in the GeForce Game Ready driver.

In its September security bulletin, NVIDIA listed 114 vulnerabilities in its GPU display drivers and graphics software. Of these, 98 affect the display driver and 16 affect vGPU software. By severity, there is 1 critical, 76 high, and 37 medium severity issues. The most severe is CVE-2026-47574, with a CVSS score of 9.9, targeting the vGPU virtual GPU manager on Linux platforms, which is primarily responsible for virtualizing graphics card resources in data centers.
