The "D2R-3D" mod for Diablo II: Resurrected adds a free camera, allowing players to move the camera behind their character for a third-person perspective, or zoom in for a first-person view. Both the original Diablo II and the Remastered version use a fixed isometric top-down perspective, and this mod changes how players observe the game world.

For controls, press F12 to enable the free camera. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out, and hold the middle mouse button to pan the camera. In addition to positioning the camera behind the character or zooming all the way in, players can also raise the camera angle for a view similar to World of Warcraft.
When the camera is close to the character, details such as walls, indoor spaces, monsters, and lighting become easier to see. The mod comes in two forms: the standalone version consists of EXE and DLL files that need to be placed in the game's executable directory; the plugin version separates the camera and draw distance features into independent modules.
D2R-3D is still an experimental project. The standalone version may trigger file integrity checks, causing the game to crash after about a minute of play. This mod is currently under development.
