Behaviour Interactive's Montreal studio is developing an unannounced AAA sci-fi first-person shooter. A job listing for a Senior Technical Animator at the studio reveals that the project uses Unreal Engine and has high demands for realism.
The job description states that the hire will be involved from the early stages of production in establishing the animation technology foundation, through to the full integration of characters into the game. Requirements include creating and maintaining rigs for bipedal, non-bipedal characters, and mechanical structures, as well as using Unreal Engine Control Rig and its real-time systems for procedural animation.
These requirements hint at certain production needs but do not clarify character designs or actual gameplay. It is currently unclear whether the "high realism" mentioned in the job posting refers to visuals, physics effects, or other mechanics.
Insider Gaming believes that the studio's 2023 release, Meet Your Maker, shares some similarities with the sci-fi shooter direction, suggesting that the project referenced in this hiring may be larger in scale. This is merely media speculation and not an official project positioning from the studio. The job posting also does not specify who will publish the game; the game's title, development progress, and announcement date remain pending official confirmation.
