An artist named Redteneri posted a gender-swapped image of Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter on social media. The image quickly went viral and became an instant hit.
Back in the day, Draco Malfoy was a hugely popular character among female readers of Harry Potter. He was a jerk with almost no redeeming qualities, yet his "bad boy" aura held immense appeal for women, many of whom wished he would end up with Hermione.
The pairing of him and Hermione (Dramione) became so popular that some Dramione fanfiction was adapted, stripped of its Harry Potter elements, and published as bestselling fantasy romance novels.
Netizens added that Malfoid is the gender-swapped version of Draco Malfoy as envisioned by the original artist. In a way, it also responds to the notion that "we need to return to gender-swapping rather than transgender representation." The original creator did not want to include the transgender flag.
Later, netizens used AI to generate a music video featuring the gender-swapped Malfoy, Malfoid, transforming Malfoy into a blonde beauty wearing the iconic green Hogwarts uniform:
