It is worth mentioning that the last Resident Evil film officially released in mainland China was Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in 2017.

According to reports, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is adapted from Capcom's classic survival horror game series Resident Evil. However, it does not directly replicate the plot of any specific game, instead telling an entirely new story within the Resident Evil universe.

The story centers on Brian, a medical courier who travels to Raccoon City to deliver a package, only to find himself caught up in a biohazard crisis triggered by an out-of-control virus.

As the city gradually falls and hordes of mutated creatures emerge, Brian must navigate dangerous zones with limited resources. The mysterious package he is tasked with delivering becomes intertwined with the entire crisis.

The film is directed by Zach Cregg and stars Austin Abrams, Paul Walter Hauser, Zach Cherry, Kaley Cuoco, and others.

Zach Cregg, who previously directed thrillers such as Barbarian and Weapons, continues to emphasize horror, thriller, and survival elements in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.

Officials also issued a special reminder advising minors to exercise caution when choosing to watch the film.
