With just one month left until the release of GTA VI, its promotional campaign is in full swing, with Rockstar sparing no effort. To welcome the game, the company plans to revamp the entire city of Miami, even renaming the Miami Heat to the Vice City Heat during an NBA game.
GTA VI features over 170 animal species and a dynamic weather system. Now, a new promotional campaign has revealed another ambitious goal the developers set for the protagonist, Lucia.
In a new feature for Love magazine, writer Alexa D’Agostino revealed that her goal in crafting the script was to make Lucia an iconic character on par with previous Rockstar protagonists like Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic.
She explained that she modeled the character after her own mother, aiming to connect Lucia with other defiant women around the world.
D'Agostino further emphasized that she wanted GTA VI's protagonist to be imperfect and somewhat clichéd, as this would make Lucia feel like a complete person who could stand alongside figures like Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic.
Rockstar has previously expressed its hope that the two protagonists of GTA VI would evoke emotions similar to those inspired by Arthur Morgan. What impression Lucia will ultimately leave on players remains to be seen once the full story is revealed.
