Rockstar has assigned dedicated writers for GTA 6 to craft pedestrian dialogue as well as advertising and comedic content. These voices, existing outside the main storyline, are also part of how the team shapes the game's cities.
In an interview, Rockstar's Senior Vice President of Narrative, Rupert Humphries, stated that the team has brought together writers and creators from diverse backgrounds. In Los Angeles, there are writers dedicated to crafting pedestrian dialogue, while in New York, Los Angeles, and London, there are writers responsible for advertising and comedic content.
The series has previously used passerby dialogue and radio broadcasts to tell stories. Humphries explained that the team does not treat this content as optional "background noise," but rather as an integral part of the experience players encounter within the game world. The interview outlined the division of writing labor but did not disclose specific line counts or a list of radio programs.
