Recently, after watching newer gameplay footage of the reboot, Peter Molyneux, the father of Fable, expressed greater confidence in the direction of the new title. He stated that he would play the version developed by Playground Games as soon as possible. This will also be his first time experiencing a Fable game as an ordinary player.
Molyneux said he is proud that the series he worked on continues, and he has always kept an eye on changes in new entries. When he first saw the trailer featuring Richard Ayoade with Jack and the Beanstalk elements, he worried the game might be too fairy-tale-like.
After watching more recent gameplay demonstrations, Molyneux believes that Fable 4 retains many of the elements that make the game special. At the time of the interview, about 30 minutes of gameplay footage and part of the new cast had been revealed. However, he still wants to learn more about the faction system and how player choices will visually change the game world.
Discussing the idea of experiencing the series for the first time as a player, Molyneux explained that when developing games he was involved in, he had to play them repeatedly. The reboot developed by Playground Games will allow him to play Fable for the first time from an ordinary player's perspective.
