Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Gameplay: Hajin Map Returns for PvPvE Extraction

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has revealed the first gameplay details for the DMZ mode. This mode returns with its extraction-focused PvPvE gameplay: players enter the exclusion zone in the exclusive map Al Mazrah, complete objectives, secure loot, and then attempt to extract with their haul. Along the way, they will face both AI enemies and other players.

Al Mazrah features zones of varying difficulty. Players can start by gathering gear in low-threat areas before moving on to locations with higher rewards and more challenging objectives. There are currently no plans to introduce a pure PvE mode.

DMZ features an independent progression system up to level 70. Leveling up unlocks facilities and crafting recipes at the Forward Operating Base, while players continue to earn overall player XP and weapon XP. The base is used for managing operators, storage, missions, and deployment preparations. Exploration, combat, looting, and mission completion all contribute to progression. After each deployment, regardless of successful extraction, players can review their ratings and progression status via the after-action report.
