Gears of War: E-Day is rolling out a patch ahead of the end of Early Access and its wider release, focusing on stability, online services, and campaign bugs. The update also covers overall performance, hardware compatibility, and issue reporting.
On the multiplayer front, the patch addresses issues where some Versus Social matches would get stuck on the "Waiting for Players" screen, improves Xbox authentication when the device's system time differs significantly from the correct time, and fixes an issue where split-screen players might be signed out after pausing and resuming the game. Stability when loading online session information has also been improved.
Campaign fixes address issues such as incorrectly receiving existing progress or rewards after joining an ongoing game, players remaining attached to turrets at the start of cutscenes or story nodes, and individual chapter objectives failing to update or trigger properly.
Other fixes include some Siege Blitz Secure objectives being uncompletable, the extraction helicopter not appearing in the Downtown West Blitz mission, and bombs potentially getting stuck in the defusal state if a player is eliminated during the defusal interaction in Demolition mode. The patch also adjusts online diagnostic text and resolves an issue where challenge email rewards could be claimed repeatedly. Gears of War: E-Day will also be available on Game Pass.
