NBA 2K25 will be removed from the PlayStation Store on October 30, 2026, and its online servers will be shut down starting January 1, 2027. At that point, players will no longer be able to engage in multiplayer or access online modes, and MyCareer will also become unplayable.
According to 2K Sports' statement, both MyCareer and MyTeam are affected, and players will no longer be able to earn virtual currency. Since MyCareer relies on virtual currency to upgrade players, this single-player career mode will also become unplayable once the servers are shut down. NBA 2K25 was released on September 3, 2024.
Not all game content will cease to function. Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA will remain playable, but features requiring a connection to 2K servers—such as multiplayer, online leagues, and community sharing—will no longer work.
