Recently, Xbox head Asha Sharma told employees in an internal meeting that the Xbox business has recovered from its historical low and is now growing again, following a "reset," layoffs, and studio adjustments. She described the current situation as "more than two to three times" previous levels and expects this growth to continue.
Sharma believes the company is making the right decisions. However, the meeting did not specify the baseline period, the business segments involved, or the metrics used, making it impossible to determine what exactly has changed in terms of revenue, player counts, or other specific data.
These remarks come in the wake of recent personnel and organizational changes at Xbox. Microsoft laid off approximately 1,600 employees in July and nearly 300 more in September, while also adjusting the affiliations of some studios and business units.
Sharma also stated that Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons 2, and World of Warcraft: Eternal had strong launches, but again provided no specific figures.
