NVIDIA has released the GeForce 617.42 WHQL Game Ready driver, adding support for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Star Wars: Racer Revenge. The new version also fixes an issue in Assassin's Creed Shadows that could cause crashes to the desktop with previous drivers.
This update also includes optimizations for Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and Valorant, and adds support for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 7.
The fix notes indicate that Assassin's Creed Shadows could crash to the desktop after extended play sessions when using the previous 616.56 driver. Another fix addresses power management on laptops, where the "Prefer Maximum Performance" mode might not have been applied correctly.
