Ukrainian developer Frogwares has just released a major free update for The Sinking City 2, bringing the survival horror game to version 1.1.0. The development team claims to have fixed and improved over 150 issues, covering performance, stability, puzzles, visuals, and localization. Most of these changes address key community requests.
For example, Frogwares has redesigned several encounters to reduce enemy pressure, offering a more balanced combat experience while maintaining the challenge. Player feedback indicated that encounters such as "The Call of Awakening," "A Glimpse of Beauty," "Tides Rise and Fall," and "Cold Comfort" were too difficult; these now feature fewer enemies and waves. Explosive items have also been enhanced with clearer visual effects and larger blast radii, providing players with more strategic options against hordes of enemies.
In terms of technology and graphics, the 1.1.0 update adds HDR display support (including HDR10+) for all platforms,PC platform upscaling options have also been expanded, adding AMD FSR 4.1.1 and NVIDIA DLSS "Legacy" modes.
PS5 Pro users will notice several improvements, including the addition of PSSR. On the most powerful console currently available, "Quality Mode" supports hair strands, improved lumen lighting effects, and higher-quality reflections, while "Performance Mode" renders at a higher internal resolution.
The post-game mode "Ex Oblivione" has been significantly improved. Inventory slots and weapon upgrades now carry over across multiple playthroughs, and a "New Game" mode has been added, offering a fresh option for players who want to experience the game in its original form after their first completion.
Additionally, this update adds two unlockable outfits for The Sinking City 2's protagonist, Calvin Redfield: "Warlock" and "The King in Yellow."To celebrate the 1.1.0 update, Frogwares has re-released the Steam demo, adding the ability to carry over demo save data to the full version.
Demo versions are also available on PS5 (for PS Plus members) and Xbox.
The Sinking City 2 is currently 20% off on PC Steam, with the Standard Edition priced at 212 yuan.
