Kanye West and Children Buy Pokémon TCG Packs! Store Reportedly Closed Temporarily

Kanye West recently took his children to LA Sports Cards in Los Angeles to buy Pokémon Trading Card Game booster packs. Reports indicate that the store temporarily closed during his visit, and he spent "thousands upon thousands" of dollars on booster packs for himself and his children.

The store owner later posted a photo of West with the staff, stating in the caption that they were always happy to welcome him. Neither the photo nor the caption specified which sets or how many booster packs were purchased, nor did it mention whether any specific cards were pulled. Claims about the amount spent are also not supported by any shopping list or detailed receipt.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game launched its Base Set in Japan in 1996 and introduced the English version in 1999, subsequently fostering a collector's market. This year's new expansion sets, the 30th Anniversary expansions, and the series expected to launch in November form the current product backdrop; however, existing reports have not confirmed whether West purchased any of these.
