Overwatch Season 5, "A Grim Doctrine," launches on October 6. The season introduces the new Support hero Doctrine, transitions Sombra from Damage to Support, and features a significant rework of Roadhog's abilities.
Doctrine's attack speed and ultimate ability were adjusted prior to the season launch due to balance concerns. Changes to Sombra and Roadhog may impact players' team compositions and match pacing. On the map front, a new Escort mode map, "Outpost: Grimsvotn," has been added this season.
The season also introduces Battle Pass cosmetics and two new Mythic skins. The Halloween-themed event "Mystery Madness: Graveyard Games" is scheduled from October 6 to November 2, allowing players to earn rewards by participating.
A limited-time collaboration with "Shadow Monarch" is scheduled from October 6 to 19, featuring collaborative cosmetics available in the store. This season will also provide access to select content from previous seasons.
