Brazilian indie team Statera Studio has launched a free demo for the action Roguelite game Garden Souls on Steam, while confirming that PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch versions are in development. Store pages for PlayStation and Xbox are already live, but the release date has not yet been announced.
The demo introduces several improvements based on feedback from the previous public test, adds new environmental elements, and unlocks part of the story content. The developers state that narrative is a crucial part of the experience and recommend players explore its secrets on their own.
In the game, players control four resurrected Flower Princesses to stop a mysterious entity known as the "Mandrake" from corrupting the world. Each expedition takes place in randomly generated ecological zones, featuring regular enemies, elite encounters, and bosses. Players can adjust their combat style through new abilities, elemental enhancements, and permanent progression systems.
Combat emphasizes free-form combos. By consuming "Cancel Gauge" points, players can chain attacks into jumps, dashes, slashes, or special moves. Each of the four princesses has unique gameplay mechanics, abilities, and exclusive combos, while support characters and auto-joining floral allies also participate in battle.
