Xbox Denies Rumors of GTA 6 Cloud Streaming Exclusivity and PC Launch via Cloud

Matthew Ball, Xbox's Strategy Lead, denied rumors that GTA 6 would be exclusively streamed via Xbox Cloud Gaming and that PC players could play through cloud services at launch. The game's currently announced launch plan targets consoles, leading some to view cloud gaming as a potential way for PC players to experience the game simultaneously.

Previously, journalist Tom Warren suggested that Xbox might have exclusive streaming rights for the game, allowing PC players to access it via cloud services at launch without needing a console. Ball later clarified that information regarding exclusive streaming and providing the game to PC via the cloud was inaccurate.

Ball stated that Xbox expects GTA 6 to launch on Xbox consoles on November 19, but the title will not be an exclusive streaming release, nor will it be available on PC via cloud services. PlayStation's Remote Play requires a console that already owns the game, so it cannot be used to infer the PC release schedule. Currently, there is no release date for the PC version of the game.
