Star Wars: Zero Company Developer Begins Recalling Furloughed Employees

Bit Reactor, the developer of Star Wars: Zero Company, has begun recalling some employees who were previously on unpaid leave. CEO Greg Foertsch stated that the studio initiated the process of bringing more team members back to work this week to continue supporting the game.

Foertsch stated that the team encountered unexpected business changes beyond their control close to the game's launch, making the decision to temporarily lay off staff a difficult one. The studio hopes that this return-to-work arrangement will ultimately allow as many team members as possible to come back. Previous reports mentioned that Bit Reactor, facing financial constraints, had placed approximately 80% of its employees on unpaid leave before the game's release.

The return-to-work process is still in its early stages. Citing Game File, VGC reported that the number of salaried employees at Bit Reactor has exceeded half of the pre-furlough headcount following the announcement, but many employees have not yet resumed paid status.

According to Newzoo data, Star Wars: Zero Company ranked as the sixth highest-grossing PC game in August across six major Western markets. Foertsch thanked players for their response to the game and stated that more updates about the studio and the game would be shared in the future.
