Recently, Hideo Kojima retweeted an article introducing a fan-made project for a native PC port of P.T., bringing attention to this development effort. The project is currently about 97% complete, with the goal of running natively on Windows.
P.T. was released in August 2014 as a playable teaser for what was intended to be Hideo Kojima's next Silent Hill title. The associated game was later cancelled, and the demo was removed from the PlayStation Store in 2015. Players who didn't download it at the time, or who have since deleted it from their PS4, have faced difficulties experiencing this content again.
Mod author LoreanXavier stated that he used assets from the original game, reverse-engineered the PS4 build, and created the PC version using C++ and Vulkan. The project does not run via an emulator, nor is it a remake from scratch.
According to the author, the port retains the original house setting, content, loops, events, progression, ending puzzles, and voice recognition features. PC rendering has been implemented, with remaining visual discrepancies still being addressed; optional graphical enhancement settings will not alter the base game content.
After Hideo Kojima retweeted the related article, LoreanXavier posted that he was thrilled to have his time-intensive project noticed by Kojima. Although the project is still in development, Kojima's public interaction has undoubtedly given players hope for P.T.'s revival.
