New GTA 6 Details: Protagonist Sometimes Appears Nude, NPCs May Attack Proactively

NPCs in "GTA 6" may actively attack the player. Rockstar's Rob Nelson introduced that NPCs in the new title each have their own motivations, making encounters with them potentially more unpredictable than in previous entries in the series.

Pedestrians on the street will react dynamically to your behavior: if you tail someone, eavesdrop on conversations, or act strangely, pedestrians will respond accordingly. The same event can lead to completely different outcomes depending on the player's actions. The power dynamics mechanic in this game has been deeply upgraded; you are no longer the absolute dominant force in the world. Some pedestrians carry concealed weapons and may intervene if they see you committing a crime, or they might suddenly get into conflicts with other NPCs without warning.

Nelson said that in past series entries, players were nearly "omnipotent" in the game world, with others typically fleeing. The new game also introduces a system called "Crime Record." Unlike the Honor System in "Red Dead Redemption 2," it doesn't simply judge actions as right or wrong; if players consistently engage in excessive behavior beyond what is necessary, the record may shift in a certain direction.

Jason and Lucia each have their daily routines. When you switch characters, the other might be staying at the safe house or out and about. Nelson gave an example: when switching from Lucia to Jason, you might catch Jason in the shower, completely naked. There is also a side quest where Lucia encounters a lawyer living in a trash can, and she can even jump into the trash can to interact with him.

Jason and Lucia have independent AI personalities. As they roam the city together, one of them may proactively suggest doing something or even take off on their own to initiate an action. They are independent individuals with autonomous behavioral logic. Some players worry that maintaining the relationship between the two protagonists might become tedious when they just want to experience thrilling action content. Nelson responded that the development team has put significant effort into polishing the chemistry between the two characters while ensuring they can also act independently, with both characters performing excellently whether alone or together.

Nelson also stated that money plays a more important role in this game's story than before; players may need to sell cars or rob stores to raise funds for missions. Additionally, diet affects health, working out can increase muscle and strength, while overeating will lead to weight gain.
