Call of Duty League caster Clint "Maven" Evans has announced that he will be stepping away from the league for the foreseeable future. He also revealed that he is now dating Maurisa, the ex-wife of his longtime casting partner Joe "MerK" DeLuca.
In a statement on social media, Maven explained that he has a close relationship with MerK and his family. After MerK divorced Maurisa, he remained friends with her, and the two later began dating. Maven described this relationship as "unusual" and stated that he had not anticipated such a change.
Maven thanked the audience for their years of support, expressed hope that he would have the opportunity to return to the league in the future, and asked viewers to continue supporting MerK, the league, and other casters. Maven has long been partnered with MerK as a Call of Duty commentator; it remains unclear who will become MerK's regular partner after his departure.
There is currently no news regarding a successor, nor can it be confirmed whether Maven's decision to leave was influenced by his employer. The Call of Duty League 2027 season is expected to begin in mid-December, with new casting arrangements yet to be announced.
