Fantasy CRPG Arcane Fade OpenBeta Launches with Comprehensive Chinese Experience Upgrade
The Beta branch supports English and a work-in-progress Chinese version, and introduces new content such as instant language switching, a new journal map, Twitch integration, and optimized inventory management!
Swedish indie publisher Raw Fury and developer Christoffer Bodegård have launched the open beta for the latest update to Arcane Fade on Steam today. All players who own the game can participate. This update overhauls the game's localization system to support multiple languages and community-created translations, along with several other improvements.
Currently, the test branch offers English and a work-in-progress Chinese localization; official German and Russian translations are planned for future updates. Players can join the test by selecting the "Localization Branch" on Steam. As development continues, the team warmly welcomes player feedback and bug reports.
In Arcane Fade, players take on the role of a "Cleric," one of many grassroots workers in the city of Novik, tasked with investigating the mystery behind a tea house explosion. You will roll dice to contend with voices in your head, explore this fantasy city on the eve of its first election, and strive to become a legendary hero or completely disrupt the campaign.
• Game Features
• Make choices that may backfire: – Complete open-ended missions in Novik's streets, towers, and dark tunnels, whether they are significant or trivial. You can become the city's savior or push it toward destruction with your own hands.
• Roll the dice to determine fate: – Roll dice to wrestle with dwarves, steal Everythinggj in sight, or find ways to avoid looking like a complete fool. Just like in classic tabletop RPGs, failure often leads to more interesting outcomes.
• Bend reality at will: – Use the cleric's innate magical powers to unlock unique narrative choices. You can manipulate others' minds for fun and profit, investigate secrets in underground tunnels, or peer into the hearts of your enemies.
• Master turn-based combat: – Novik's clerics are taught to view violence as a last resort. When combat is unavoidable, determine success or failure by rolling dice, just like in classic tabletop RPGs.
• Advance the story through the "Questing Tree": – The "Questing Tree" serves as a quest log, skill tree, and mind map. Each quest branch can take root in the cleric's mind, shaping their playstyle through feats that significantly alter gameplay.
