Canadian singer The Weeknd recently visited SHIFT UP, the developer of "Stellar Blade," and played the upcoming sequel, "Stellar Blade: Blood Rain." SHIFT UP confirmed the playtest. The Weeknd also shared photos on his social media, including one with company representative Kim Hyung-tae and images from his studio tour.
In the released photos, The Weeknd is seen near equipment that appears to be a 3D scanning facility. It remains unconfirmed whether he underwent scanning or if the data will be used in the game. His potential appearance or musical contribution to "Stellar Blade: Blood Rain" has also not been announced.
"Stellar Blade: Blood Rain" is the sequel to "Stellar Blade," which was released in 2024. When announced in June 2026, the teaser revealed that the story would follow a new protagonist after the events of the previous game.
The Weeknd has previously collaborated on performance visuals for Japanese games and anime. However, SHIFT UP has only confirmed his visit to the studio and playtest of the sequel; there is no official news yet regarding a collaboration in "Stellar Blade: Blood Rain."
