Generate and Tweak Games Without Coding: Google and Unity Launch AI Game Creation Platform Playground

Google and Unity have announced a partnership to integrate text-to-game generation, work showcasing, and sharing into a single creation platform. In Playground, users can input natural language commands to generate and adjust playable games without needing to write code themselves. Completed works can be saved privately, shared via links, or submitted to a publicly displayed gallery.

Playground also integrates with Google Play Games profile features, coming with preset leaderboards, multiplayer matchmaking, and social functions. Google stated that it hopes to use its network to showcase outstanding works on the platform, helping creators gain visibility.

As planned by both parties, Unity Spark will build on Playground by leveraging the Unity runtime to provide more flexible game mechanics and a higher-quality 3D graphics production environment. The tool is currently still in the planning stages for release later this year.
