"Lostbound" Launches on Steam: Repeated Traversal Causes Map to Gradually Disappear

Lostbound, an action RPG developed by indie studio Tenkarider, launched on Steam on October 8th alongside a showcase trailer. Players must gather all the artifacts and escape a crumbling world before the Hands of the Abyss catch up. Repeatedly traversing the same land will cause that area to vanish from the map.

The game incorporates roguelite elements. If players traverse an area too many times, the Hands of the Abyss will erase it, narrowing the available paths. While searching for artifacts, players must also keep an eye on their route.

The dungeons also have a time limit before nightfall. Players can delve deeper to find the items they need, but must return to the surface before dark, or risk being hunted by the Hands of the Abyss in the darkness.

Each playthrough is procedurally generated, with artifact locations and item combinations changing based on the seed. Players can experiment with different builds and invest resources to strengthen their characters; even if a run ends in failure, they can try again armed with knowledge of routes and strategies learned from previous attempts.
