Since the gameplay reveal of Marvel's Wolverine, the game has faced criticism and attacks online, with many claiming it lacks revolutionary innovation. In fact, this online backlash has intensified, causing concern even for the developer, Insomniac Games.
James Stevenson, PR Director at Insomniac Games, stated on social media that due to the intense criticism surrounding Marvel's Wolverine, he is considering advising developers to avoid the X platform.
The PR manager emphasized that the continuous malicious attacks against Insomniac Games and Marvel's Wolverine are highly detrimental to the developers' mental health. James Stevenson also accused algorithms of amplifying negative reviews about the upcoming action-adventure game.
Despite high expectations, Marvel's Wolverine has encountered significant negative feedback and mockery on X. Fans compared the game's battles against Sentinel robots to boss fights in the Ben 10 series released on the PS2. Similarly, other critical posts targeted the game's traditional gameplay and lack of innovation compared to other Insomniac Games titles.
Previous preview articles also pointed out that Marvel's Wolverine doesn't bring any revolutionary innovations, which could turn into a harsh prophecy.
