Dell Launches NVIDIA Platform Laptop with 18-Core N1X Chip and 120Hz OLED Display

Dell has launched its first XPS laptop powered by the Nvidia RTX Spark platform. This XPS 16 features an 18-core N1X chip, 5,120 GPU cores, 32 GB of unified memory, and a 16-inch 3.2K Tandem OLED touchscreen.

The XPS 16 Creator Edition brings the Nvidia RTX Spark platform to the Dell XPS lineup. Alongside other RTX Spark laptops like the Asus ProArt P16, it targets creative workflows and local AI tasks.

The XPS 16 Creator Edition features an 18-core Nvidia N1X chip with 5,120 GPU cores, paired with 32 GB of unified LPDDR5X memory and a 512 GB PCIe SSD. The Nvidia RTX Spark platform can scale up to 20 CPU cores, 6,144 GPU cores, and 128 GB of unified memory.

The XPS 16 features a 16-inch 3.2K Tandem OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 3200 x 2000 and a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The screen supports HDR True Black 600, covers the full DCI-P3 color gamut, and has a Delta E value of less than 2. Dell also stated that the display is Pantone-certified.

The laptop is 17.8 mm thick and weighs approximately 2.02 kg, featuring a CNC-machined aluminum chassis and a glass touchpad from Dell.

In terms of ports, the XPS 16 includes three USB 4.0 ports supporting DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery, one HDMI 2.1b port, a full-size SDXC v7.1 card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. For wireless connectivity, the XPS 16 supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

Like other RTX Spark laptops, the XPS 16 uses a unified memory architecture, allowing the CPU and GPU to access the same memory pool. This architecture benefits workloads that require sharing large amounts of data between the processor and graphics hardware.

The XPS 16 will launch alongside other creator laptops equipped with RTX Spark graphics, including the Asus ProArt P16 and MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI. Asus has globally released its 16-inch model, which tops out with a 20-core Grace CPU, 6,144-core Blackwell GPU, 128 GB of unified memory, and 2 TB of storage.

The XPS 16 is slightly heavier than the 1.77 kg ProArt P16. Dell's 99 Wh battery is also slightly smaller than the ProArt P16's 99.9 Wh battery.

Compared to the Asus ProArt P16, the Dell panel has lower maximum resolution and HDR brightness. The Asus model features a 3840 x 2400 OLED display with HDR brightness reaching up to 1600 nits.
