Independent studio arch1t3ct has announced that the psychological horror adventure game "Beautiful Distance, Please Don't Be Cruel to Me" will launch on PC on October 14, 2026. The story takes place in a dreamlike, seemingly forgotten "Nowhere," where beauty and pain coexist.
Players need to explore this space, converse with seven peculiar characters, collect clues to progress, and gradually uncover their hidden secrets. The game's puzzles are intentionally designed to be challenging, requiring players to repeatedly experiment and figure out the mechanics on their own.
The developers estimate that a single playthrough will take about three hours, while collecting all content will require over six hours. The game features branching paths and multiple endings, with different exploration methods potentially revealing different story information.
The game will support Japanese text at launch, and purchasing the game includes the original soundtrack for free. A demo is currently available on Steam, with its content updated alongside the release date announcement. At the time of the announcement, the demo had received 168 user reviews, with a 95% positive rating, earning an "Overwhelmingly Positive" status on the store page.
