Boiling Games has unveiled the first trailer for their new action RPG, "Trench Demons," expected to launch on Steam in 2027. Set against the backdrop of the Western Front during World War I, players take on the role of a heavily armored melee warrior advancing alone.
According to the development team, characters can block incoming bullets. Bullets slow down noticeably as they approach the character, and those not deflected can still be stopped by heavy plate armor.
After entering the narrow trenches, players must wield heavy weapons, observe enemy movements, and look for openings to attack. Enemy soldiers will panic, dodge, or block based on their abilities, and may even try to anticipate the player's swings; as the character grows stronger, players will have the chance to take down groups of enemies with a single strike.
The game features a loop of retrying after death, learning the trench layouts, and unlocking new skills. The current release plan targets a 2027 launch on Steam, though a specific date has yet to be confirmed.
