Game media outlet VGC has added a Patreon Producer tier to its weekly show, "VGC: The Video Games Podcast," priced at $250 or £193. Businesses and individuals can support the show's production through this tier and decide whether or not to promote their business.
According to VGC's plan, supporters who choose promotion will receive customized shout-outs for their business or product in each podcast video episode. The video version will also display an image chosen by the supporter throughout the episode, provided it meets the show's requirements. Supporters can also choose not to promote themselves.
The Producer tier also includes other Patreon membership benefits, such as ad-free browsing of the VGC website, the ability to comment and access Discord, listening to exclusive podcast episodes, and receiving a weekly newsletter.
The podcast has tens of thousands of listeners each month. It views the new tier as a way to support its work during difficult times for game media outlets, hoping to maintain independent operations and continue producing content that readers want to see.
