Xbox head Asha Sharma stated in an internal meeting that the Xbox business has returned to growth after experiencing a year-over-year decline. She also described the next-generation Xbox Helix as a "family of devices," which will include a console.
This internal meeting transcript was obtained by Windows Central, which stated that it had verified the authenticity of the records through reliable sources. Sharma noted that at the beginning of the year, Xbox saw declines in playtime, player count, and revenue; playtime has since stabilized, the business is back to growth, and she expects this momentum to continue. She also mentioned that positive sentiment toward the Xbox brand rose by 30% within a year, with several new titles delivering "strong" launches.
Regarding hardware, Sharma believes Xbox still needs to invest in consoles, particularly to solidify its position in the current generation with the Xbox Series X|S. As for Xbox Helix, beyond consoles, she discussed players' needs in mobile scenarios; some product directions may be advanced in partnership with collaborators, with concrete plans still taking shape.
Sharma also hinted that Game Pass would become more flexible. On the PC front, the meeting covered continuing to develop Battle.net, Xbox PC, and release tools for developers. Following previous layoffs and organizational changes at Xbox, specific product forms and plans for next-generation hardware have not yet been fully revealed.
